For me, living here isn't always a retreat. Like everyone else, I have stuff to do. And like everyone else, I can forget the importance of soulfully connecting. At least until something happens like it did today when I stepped outside and saw the bright green seeds on the cedar trees. They are mesmerizingly beautiful and I stopped to stare for several minutes. Just enough time to remember how precious our planet ... and life ... really are.
Cedar is medicine to the Anishnawbe people who lived here long ago. Today - it is medicine for me too.
